What information is being collected?

Currently, nothing. We only collect information if you choose to volunteer it by creating an account, which isn’t required by any means. You may enjoy our site 24/7 without ever creating an account. However, creating an account enables you to save and “heart” products. During the account creation process we collect your name, e-mail address and then ask you to choose and verify a password, all of which is encrypted and stored in our database so that even if we wanted to read it, we couldn’t. We do use Google Analytics to track and aggregate traffic to the site, which is a common practice across the whole of the internet. The info collected by Google includes nothing that is identifiable meaning nobody can identify you as an individual. However, if you choose to comment on a product using our Facebook widget integration, you do so at your own risk, so please be sure about what you say and what facebook account you are saying it from. Commenting is your choice, so choose wisely.

What are your choices in regards to stop this data collection?

If you are really concerned about your privacy, you can contact us using contact@lootnerd.com and request that we delete your account. We will do so ASAP. As far as the tracking cookie that Google Analytics uses, you can clear your cookies after navigating away from our website. Consult the support documents of your current browser for more information regarding deleting cookies.

Mailing List

We do not currently have a mailing list, but we may consider launching one in the future. However, by registering with the site and providing an e-mail address, you are agreeing to opt-in to any future e-mails from Loot Nerd. Of course any e-mail we send to you will be from us directly, not any third party. Furthermore, any and all e-mails sent to you will contain an ‘unsubscribe’ link which will omit you from any future e-mails. All that being said, we’re not in the business of spamming you. We want you to enjoy our site, browse some products, and tell your friends.

Third Party Cookies

Some of our business partners may use cookies on our site (for example, advertisers, including Google). We don’t have any control over those cookies whatsoever. So, with that in mind, be aware that this privacy policy only covers LootNerd.com. We cannot be held liable or even knowledgeable on how cookies from other organizations work. However, we strictly partner with reputable vendors, no exceptions.

Children

LootNerd respects the sensitive nature of children’s privacy online. We do not direct any of our content or services, nor do we knowingly collect Personal Data from children under the age of 13. If you are under thirteen, please do not submit any Personal Data through the Site. If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 13 has provided Personal Data to Loot Nerd through the Site, please contact us using contact@lootnerd.com and we will take steps to delete that information from our databases.

We take the best safeguards with data as we can. As mentioned previously, we store data encrypted in our databases and utilize SSL (secure socket layer) protection to further safeguard data. However, no internet or email transmission can ever be 100% secure or error free. In particular, email sent to or from servers, including lootnerd.com, may not be secure. Third Party Advertising

We utilize the Google Analytics code which will enable us to remarket to our website visitors through the Google AdWords network, meaning we may occasionally show you an ad if you have previously visited our website. Additionally, you can and probably should download a nice ad-blocker, they are very useful...we won’t be offended.
